GKHAT is excited to be hosting the ski swap Saturday Nov 2, 2024!

Equipment drop off on Friday Nov 1, 2024.


  • How does the ski swap work?

    • Bring gear that you would like to sell to the Rec Plex on Friday night, November 1, from 5-9 PM.
    • Print off and fill out the Gear Registration Form (link below) in advance if you can. Paper forms will be available at the Rec Plex too but doing this in advance will make things go faster. 
    • Each item you'd like to sell under $100.00 is $3 per item to enter, items between $100-$495.00 are $5 per item and items over $500 are $10 per item. You must pay the fee to enter your gear by CASH or E-Transfer at the time you drop your gear off.
    • Please price your gear reasonably and choose round numbers (ex. $5, $65, $280, etc.).
    • You will get a copy/photo of your gear registration form once you have paid your entry fees. 

  • To sell your gear, please complete the Gear Registration Form in advance if possible. Fees to enter gear in the swap must be paid at that time by CASH or E-TRANSFER. 

  • The sale takes place from 11am -3pm on Saturday November 2. Payments in CASH or E-TRANSFER will be accepted. 

  • Unsold gear/cash pickup takes place Saturday November 2 from 5PM-7PM

What gear can be consigned?

Downhill Skis/Boots/Poles

Cross Country Skis/Boots/Poles Skis 

Snowboards/Boots/Bindings

Touring gear (Skis/Splitboards/Boots/Poles)

Probes, Shovels & Beacons/Transceivers

New helmets in box/with tags on

Winter Jackets & Pants/Snowsuits 

Mitts/goggles/base layers in good shape etc.. 


What gear cannot be consigned?

Straight skis

Rear entry boots (unless new model) 

Used helmets  

Unsafe gear of any kind


**Volunteers may refuse equipment not suitable for sale**


How should I price my used gear?

The standard pricing guidance is:

- 50% of current online price (not MSRP)

-10% per year old

-10% per times drilled, per core shot, per delam...etc

-10% per marker binding attached 

+10-30% for Rare/High-demand item

These are guidelines, not rules but it will increase the chance of you selling your gear.

Can I purchase items using a credit card?

No, we are only taking cash or e-transfer for registration fees and purchasing.


What do I need to pick up my money/gear?

You will need a photo or physical copy of your gear registration form to pick up your money or remaining gear.

What if I am not available during gear pick-up time?

If you are unable to pick up your gear, you can give/send your registration form to a friend and they can pick up your money/gear for you.

How can I volunteer for this event?

If you are interested in volunteering for the ski swap, send an email to skiswap@gkhat.ca. Volunteers get early access to shopping on the day of the swap!
