With support from funding programs (e.g., Columbia Shuswap Regional District: Grant in Aid) and donations to the club, GKHAT offers financial assistance to families that cannot afford the full program cost for their athlete(s)
Eligibility requires that an application be made to either BC Kidsport (http://www.kidsportcanada.ca/british-columbia/apply-for-assistance/), Canadian Tire Jump Start (https://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/content/microsites/jumpstart/en/apply.html#wanttoapply), or the athletics4kids (https://www.a4k.ca/apply_now) programs. A letter from at least one of these programs confirming that an application was submitted will be required.
GKHATwill provide additional funding covering costs above and beyond those not covered by these funding programs. For example, if you receive $400 from KidSport, Jumpstart, or Atheletics4Kids (a4k) and the total program costs for your athlete is $850, GKHAT may provide up to an additional $450 of financial support at the discretion of the GKHAT board of directors. Participation in the program will be confidential and GKHAT will not require your personal financial information.
