Hello GKHAT Families,

We are excited to announce that GKHAT will host its first ever summer day camp this year. Choose which week you prefer: Monday July 16- Friday July 20 or July 23 to 27. A this time, the uptake for July 16-20 has been slow.

Be sure to sign up on or before June 23, 2018.

Both weeks run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. Activities will include hiking at Kicking Horse and trails in the Golden area, mountain biking the trails of Golden, swimming at the pool, team building games and fun times, and an overnight to cap off the week Thursday-Friday at a rec site in the area.

UPDATE: This camp is open to athletes born between 2004 and 4010 (ages 8 to 14).

We need 10 athletes in order for the camp to run. In order to be covered for the camp, athletes must be registered in BC Alpine for the 2018/19 season (BC Alpine insurance covers July-June for a given season). Registrants will be charged their annual BC Alpine fees with this registration. The BC Alpine fees will NOT be charged to you again when the ski season begins. Do be aware that there may be minor adjustments when the season begins. For example: Athletes choosing to race or not race will affect those rates.

Cost is $480 for the week (+BC alpine insurance valid for 2018/19 ski season). Register via the team pages form at this link. Contact Ryan @ headcoach@gkhat.ca if you have any questions!

Athletes will need the following equipment:

Participant Gear List
Mountain bike
Bike Gear: Helmet, gloves, etc.
Daily lunch and snack: Participants are to provide their own food except for the over night.
Day pack
Bathing suit
Hiking books
Sleep bag and pad. Tents will be provided.

Sadly, the ski season has ended at Kicking Horse. The upside is that you now have the free time to complete things like our end of season survey! It’ll only take you a few minutes. Your input will help us set priorities and tweak things for the 2018/19 season. Please complete the survey by April 22, 2018.

A link to the survey is provided below. If you have any difficulties or questions, please contact it@gkhat.ca

Hello GKHAT Families,

This weekend (April 14 and 15) are the last days to ski at Kicking Horse, and it is also the last chance you will have to get any equipment you or athletes may have left at the yurt. Please drop by the yurt on Saturday or Sunday between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM to see if you have left something behind.

Also, this is another reminder to take the time to complete our end of season survey by April 22, 2018.  The questions in the survey are designed to assist the board and coaches in improving our programs and shape the direction of the club.  A link to the survey is provided below. If you have any difficulties or questions, please contact it@gkhat.ca

Hello GKHAT families,

I am happy to let you know this is these are the last volunteer sign ups for this season. It has been an incredibly busy year and some of our members have been incredibly generous with their time. There are 8 families who have been on course for 3 full race events (Nancy Greene and Zone Race) and I would love to ease their burden for this last race. That means we need EVERYONE to be generous with their time for this last event of the season. We are asking all race families to sign up for a minimum of ONE volunteer position on Saturday March 17. Let’s show our kids how excited we all are about our club by having everyone involved in our last event to wind up the season. There are many different kinds of positions available, some on snow, some off snow, some after racing, some before racing. Please find a position that suits your needs. Remember, these events do not run themselves.

Thank you in advance for making this an enjoyable last club event for everyone.

You will find race day coaching groups here. Please double check the list to make sure you know who your athletes will be skiing with on the 17th.

What we need you to do:

  1. RSVP to the club championships here (please respond accordingly, with a yes or a no).
  2. Using the same link, please choose your volunteer position for the day.

  3. RSVP to the 2018 Club Banquet and Awards here and let us know how many adults and athletes will be attending from your family. Please RSVP as soon as possible so planning can begin.
  4. Using the same link, let us know if you can help with table set up and/or clean up for the banquet.

Other important notes:
